The IMAGE KANGKONG

We know that kangkong originated somewhere  in Asia but it has been so  long cultivated that we do not know  exactly  where  the centre of origin  is.

but it grows easily  and flourishes  naturally in water-ways across not only  Asia ,but many other parts of the tropics as well.

In fact  ,it grows  so  well that  it is listed as a nexious  weed in US States  of  Florida ,California  and Hawaii.

In Asia  .where  it is cultivated  for  it tender  young shoots .there are two  varietiies -the  common ,ordinary,water kangkong  ,that is so
                                                                                    easy  to grow.and  another variety  that can grow
                                                                                    in beds of  drier  soil as long as it is  kept moist.

                                                                                  Although it is very popular in Taiwan.in other Asia country ,such as  Malaysia and  Singapore,kangkong  has  gained  a rather dubious  reputation as  a vegetable  for the poor.
