The PKR deputy president dismissed the buzz that has been spreading as rumours put out by the party’s foes.
“It was never ever discussed today… this is a slander being made by our political enemies,” he told a news conference after the PKR leadership council meeting at its headquarters here.
This is the second time Azmin has been forced to deny the allegation after reports on the matter made headlines last week.
Two days ago, Azmin rubbished the same reports surrounding Rafizi’s pending removal from office and insisted all was well within his party.
He also warned journalists not to spread rumours and lies, or face the same fate as ex-Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik — who is currently facing a sedition charge over a Facebook posting implicating Selangor’s crown prince, Tengku Amir Shah.
On October 9, news portal The Malaysian Insider quoted an anonymous senior PKR leader as saying that some in PKR wanted Rafizi axed after conflict in the party over the formation of the new opposition pact, Pakatan Harapan.
