have refused  to screen the  new AVENGERS'
film in a dispute over rental fees with Disney


News  agency dpa reported  that 686 theatres
in  193  mostly small towns refused to show
"Avengers :Age of Ultron"which open on
Thursday ,It said the dispute was over a decision
to raise the  rental fee for the movie to 53 percent
of ticket  sale rather than the 47.7per cent ussually
charged to small town theatres

Karl Heinz Meier of I.G. Nord  ,a group representing
cinema operators in northern Germany ,said
it would have  been prepared to go as far as a
50 percent fee.
He added "Disney will have to do without
686 screen on which the film otherwise
would have  been shown.

understanding

TOKYO:

Extremely high levels of radiation
have been  discovered  in a play
ground in Tokyo ,officials  said Friday
fanning  fears for  children,s health
in the area.

Soil underneath a slide at the park in
the  northwest of the Japanese capital
showed radiation readings  of up 480
microsieverts per hour, the local administrative
office  said.

The radiation level is over 2000 times that
at which the national government requires
soil cleaning in area around  the Fukushiima
Daiichi nuclear plant,where reactors  melted
down after the March 2011 tsunami,

The  standard ,however is for measurement
taken at 0.5 to 10 metres above ground ,while
officials in Tokyo 's Toshima ward checked
the  ground itself

Officials wee mad e aware of the contamination
after a  local resident reported it on Monday
and say they do not think it si connected to the
disaster at Fukushima.

after the Fukushima  nuclear crisis  a local
official told AFP  on what was previously
a parking  lot for  Tokyo 's sanitation department,

Top  soil at  the  lot was replaced  before the
land was turned into  park ,said the Toshima
official,

The park has been sealed and Toshima
ward is  discussing with experts how to
approach the problem ,she  added,

A Philippine military spokesman  says a Chinese
ship acted aggressively against a Philippine
military plane on petrol over waters claimed by
Manila in the disputed South China Sea,

Lt ,Col. Harold Cabunoc said Firday the Chinese
vessels flashed powerful lights and radioed the
Philippine navy  plane to leave the area  near one  of
the  islands in the Spratlys  chain occupied by
 Filipino s,

He  says the pilots  ignored the Chinese ship,s
actions on Sunday to avoid escalating the
confrontation,,
Earlier this  month,a Chinese coast guard vessel
fired a water canon at Filipino fishermen and
seized some of their catch near Scarborough
Shoal north of the Spratys,

The  Philippine has  prootested Chinese and  
reclamations in reefs in the disputed area to

streaming service as viable and a boon to
artists after a  much criticised start  to  the
revamped company,

a chance to grow and get better " Jay Z wrote
in one of a volley of messages Sunday on
Twitter Jay Z earlier this  year bought Tidal's
Swedish parent company Aspiro for $56 million
amid the  rapid growth of  streaming  services,


Jay Z rolled out a redesigned service on March
30 at a New York event featuring fellow stars
including Madonna,Daft Punk ,Kanye West
and  his wife Beyonce.

The  artist said that they wanted  to take charge
of  streaming future ,amid criticism by musicians

Police determined that two  tours  buses
used by Lil Wayne and  his  crew had been
shot multiple times,the daily said

Official  said the  two buses were  carrying

description  of  the suspect vehicles"Cobb

They were  described  as two white  vehicles

including Zimbabweans  are  fleeing
xenophobic violence in South Africa
,a report by a Zimbabwean  government
body reveals South Africans constitute,
the  largest number of migrants living
and working  in Zimbabwe.

The  Zimbabwe  National Stastics Agency
,in releasing its 2014 Labour  Force and Child'
Labour  Survey results  this week ,said
45 percent of 207,130 migrants  in Zimbabwe
were South Africans,

More  than 400 Zimbabwe migrants
have  been repatriated  from South Africa
following xenophobic violence against
foreign nationals there in recent weeks.

Zimbabweans were among more than 2,000
foreign nationals reported to have  been staying
in the Phoenix  camp in  Durban,

The highest numbers of migrants  are from
neighbouring  countries ,South Africa contributed
45 percent of  migrants followed by Mozambique
and Malawi with about 22 percent and 15 percent
respectively "the report says

Other migrants  are from Zambia (7.percent)
Botswana(3.9 percent) and many more.

NAIROBI;
Kenyan road safety  authorities have
threatened to charged injured pedestrians
with attempted suicide in a bid to halt a
rise in road accidents  in   the east African
Nation,

The  warning came as police revealed road
fatalities were up to percent this  year with
Jaywalkers accounting for nearly half
those  killed'

"We are  contemplating harsher sentences
for pedestrians who cross roads at
undesignated  places including charging,
them with attempted suicide ,Kenyan road
safety  chief Francis Meja was  quoted as

Attempted suicide is a crime in Kenya and
punishable by up to two years in prison

development projects.

But anger has been mounting in the rural
areas over the move ,seen as favouring
big business and compounding the misery
of debt-laden  farmers ,Many f them have
already suffered extensive unseasonal rain
damage to winter crops,

,Modi accued the opposition of manipulating
farmers and denied that his  right -wing
government was anti-poor,

A Pakistani man and  his father have been
arrested inthe country's latest so called
honour killing'aftertheyset the son's wife
alight for leaving  the house without asking
permission ,police said Sunday

Muhammad  Siddique became enraged on
learning that his wifeShabana Bibi,25 had
visited  her sister withut  first asking him
if  she could go  out ,her brother  Muhammad
Azam said

Siddique  and  his  father then beat Bibi before
dousing her with petrol and setting her on fire
in Central Pakistan 's Muzaffargarh district on Friday
Azam  said,

Bibi had been married to Siddiquefor three years,
during which time shad suffered  repeated
domestic abuse for  the couple's inability to have
children<Azam said

Sufering burns to 80 percent of her body ,
Bibi died of her injuries in hospital on
Saturday,They were arrested  and charged
them for murder and terrorism,,

FRANKFURT:

The German army is to bring back into
service around 100tanks sold to industry
the ministry of defence said on Saturday,

The move will bring to 328 the number
of Leopard 2 tanks the German army has
at its disposal, up from 225 at present,
a ministry spokesman told AFP,confirming
a report in the weekly magazine Der Spiegel

The  tanks will have to be updated to integrate
the latest technology ,with the modernisation
process due to stare in 2017,

The decision follows the creation of a new
spearhead force of about  5000 troops able
to deploy anywhere within a couple of  days,

The unit agreed by NATO leaders stung into
action by the Ukraine crisis is due to be
operational by 2016 with command centres
being set up in NATO 's east European members,

Fighting  in Yemen over the past few
weeks  has  killed more than 540 people
and wounded 1,700 as the country sinks,
deeper into a multi-sided conflict,the
world Health Organisation said Tuesday,

UNICEF  meanwhile said  at least 74 children
have  been confirmed killed and 44 wounded
since March 26,but  added that it believed
the toll to be far  higher,

More than 100,000 people have  been
displaced by  the violence,UNICEF  said,
Children are  paying an intolerable price
for  this  conflict,UNICEF Yemen Representative
Julien Harneis  said in a statement,

They are being  killed maimed and forced
to flee  their  homes,their  health threatened
and  their education interupted,
These  children should be immediately
afforded special  respect and protection
by all parties to the conflict ,in line with
international humanitarian law"

Two young Czech women kidnapped
in Pakistan in 2013 have  been freed,
and have  returned  home ,Prime
Minister Bohuslav,

"I can  confirm that Hana  Humpalove
and Antonie Chrastecka have  already
returned to the Czech  Republic "Sobotka
told the CT24 news channel,

He added that the two 26-year -old women
were freed with the  help of the Turkist
Muslim humanitarian organsiation IHH,

The agency said Chrastecka  and Humpalove
had arrived in the eastern Turkist province
of Van  late on  Friday  following two
months of intense talks,

Izzet  Sahin ,the IHH oficial  leading the
negotiations with the kidnappers ,told the
agency the  famlies of the victims had con-
tacted the Turkish charity as a last resort
after exhausting all other means to  save the
pair,

Two bomb disposal technicians died
in a roadside bomb explosion as they
cleared a route for troops in a restive
Pakistan tribal region near the Afghan
boarder ,official said,

The incident took place in the Barwand
area of South Waziristan tribal district,
one of Pakistan 's seven semi-autonomous
tribal regions,which is considered a strong
hold of Taliban militants,

"Two bomb disposal officials were clearing
the route for troop movement when an
improvised explosive device went off
killing both of them;"a senior security
official told AFP,

The semi- autonomous areas on the Afghan
boarder  have for years been hide out for
Islamist militants for all stripes ,including
Al -Qaeda and the Pakistan Taliban as well
as foreign fighters such as Uzbeks and
Uighurts

Pakistan began a long awaited push to
clear insurgent from North Waziristan
last June after a bloody Taliban  attack
on Karachi airport finally sank flatering
peace talks,Washington has pressed Islamabad
for years to wipe out the sancturaries in the
North Waziristan tribal area which militans
have used to launch attacks on NATO
forces in Afghasitan,

Two Indian police, officers have been
suspended after spending a night out
on the town with prison inmates,
The pair reportedly spent seven hours
drinking with the two prisoners in a
beer bar in  the western Indian city
of Mumbai last month,

Deputy police commissioner S Jaykumar
said the officers signed the two  inmates
out on the pretext that they wanted to
make enquiries and took them to a bar,

"We found about it from the notes in
the station diary the next morning and acted
he told AFP on Tuesday,

"Full departmental inquiry will take place
and we'll decide how to proceed based on
the findings,'

It is the second time recently that Indian
police have been caught fraternising
with inmates,
Last week,a police raid on a sex district
discovered four officers along with a convicted
murderer ,they were supposed to be
