COLOMBIA TO CHARGE CAPTAIN WITH UNDECLARED ARMS FOR CUBA

Colombia has detained the captain of a Chinese
freighter loaded with unregistered weapons
headed fr Cuba,he will face arms trafficking
charges authorities said,

Hong Kong registered Da Dan Xia has been
held at the Mamonal section of the port of
Cartagena  on Colombia's Caribbean coast
since Saturday ,a prosecutor's office spokesman
told press briefing,

The general cargo ship was  loaded with undeclared
military equipment ,including about 100 tons
of gun powder,99 projectile bases and 3,000
cartridge cases for  artillery cannons ,the spokesman
said,

The Chinese captain ,Wu Hong,will be charged
with weapons trafficking ,Gonzalez Leon added,
He did not comment on the status of the rest of
the Chinese crew,

The freighter was due to stop in the northern city
of Barranquilla before ending its route in Havana,

"The documentation the captain showed about
what the boat was carrying conflicted with what
was actually found,
