KUALA LUMPUR: 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) has documentary evidence of the ownership of an entity named Aabar Investments PJS Limited (Aabar BVI).
The state-owned company in a statement here today said the company’s records show documentary evidence of the ownership and of each payment to Aabar BVI including various legal agreements that were negotiated with Khadem Al Qubaisi in his capacity as managing director of International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) and chairman of Aabar Investment PJS (Aabar).
“It is therefore a surprising claim that neither IPIC nor Aabar have knowledge of, nor have benefited from, payments made by 1MDB to Aabar BVI,” the statement said.
1MDB was commenting on a statement issued by IPIC and Aabar to the London Stock Exchange denying ownership of Aabar BVI. NEW STREET TIMES
