Ukraine confirms seven soldiers killed in war-torn east

More than 9,000 people have been killed since a Moscow-backed insurgency erupted in eastern Ukraine in April 2014
Seven Ukrainian soldiers have died in the country's war-torn east over the past 24 hours in the biggest number of casualties in a single day this year, Kiev said Tuesday.
"As a result of shelling, seven Ukrainian soldiers have died and nine received injuries over the past 24 hours," Oleksandr Turchynov, secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, said in a statement.AFP
